We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at UPPS. Our children blossomed both socially and creatively because of the teachers, the curriculum and the great group of children and parents at the preschool. The teachers are all so energetic, compassionate, kind and SO much fun. The daily activities were always organized, engaging and varied -- they loved going to school and eagerly anticipated upcoming events and learning units. Our daughter went from the 5s class into 1st grade and transitioned really well because of the strength of the program and the teachers' focus on improving socialization skills. Our son was largely comforted through the 3s class and was able to really engage with his friends in the 4s class through well-directed, high energy activities. Love, love the teachers!!
What an amazing foundation this preschool has been for my children! The relationships formed between my children and their teachers is truly remarkable and I know that they will remember these wonderful people for many, many years. Everything they have done at preschool has been carefully crafted by the teachers to teach concepts, yet for the children it is purely fun! All of the artwork and the centers are thoughtful and meaningful and the desire of the teachers to help them in every aspect of their day is a true gift! Each year is as special as the year before, if not even better and I will cherish the time my children have in this loving and caring environment.
The youth program and choir program are beyond excellent. Kim, the youth group leader, is organized, warm, knowledgeable, and a true leader. Beth, the children's choir director, has put together one of the best children/youth music programs in the state. Bob Dunham is a superior preacher - one of the best in the entire Presbytery.
We think UPPS is a fantastic environment for our children, and can't imagine them growing up in any other place. The teachers are warm, nurturing and encouraging, and the play-based cirriculum is carefully constructed to teach all the kids while they learn. I would recommend the program to anyone.
It is a large but caring family within a huge congregation, in a very ever-changing crowd due to the nature of our area, i. e.., students and professors moving to and out, but there is a core group that will welcome you, invite you to attend and/or join without pressure, and a wonderful, compassionate, well-educated minister we adore..
