If you are looking for a warm, caring, and welcoming synagogue, you should try the Kehillah. I hope you will find it as wonderful as I did.
The Kehillah is a warm and caring community that we are so happy to have found. The rabbi is fantastic, engaging, supportive and friendly, the schools (both preschool and religious school) are incredible learning and fun centers. I've made numerous friends and enjoy the family friendly environment.
I have been a member of the Kehillah since 2001 and am currently on the board. It has been wonderful to be an active and integral part of a young and growing community. I am single woman with no children and have always been proud that the Kehillah is comfortable and welcoming to all whether one is single, married, with or without children, young adult, adult or elder, LGBTQ, part of an interfaith and/or interracial family. It is my Jewish spiritual home where I enjoy participating in and leading services, teaching Jewish meditation, studying and celebrating. I have felt comforted at difficult times and honored and celebrated at joyous times. Rabbi Jen shares her wisdom, her spirituality and her beautiful voice whether leading services, teaching, or engaging in the day to day work of the congregation. It is my Jewish community home!
We've been members of Kehillah since 2007 and love it. A very inclusive, caring atmosphere -- Rabbi Jen makes everyone feel welcome. The preschool teachers are fantastic and have done a tremendous job with both our kids. The religious school staff is just as strong and knowledgeable.
The Kehillah welcomed me and my partner with open arms and helped me to find my true spiritual home. Even though I have moved to CA, I still keep up with the Kehillah and miss participating in services, holidays, and events with the congregation.
My family joined the Kehillah Synagogue in 2005, after relocating to Chapel Hill from Boston. It is a warm, welcoming, and diverse community. My daughters have had an excellent religious school experience, and we have made strong connections with other families. Rabbi Jen Feldman is wonderful -- sensitive, insightful, and a gifted interpreter of Jewish text and ritual. The Kehillah is small enough that I have always felt known and appreciated there -- I am not merely another face in the crowd but an integral and valued part of the congregation -- and, it's very convenient for those living anywhere in the Triangle.
