I love this place. I am aware this is a school, so I make appointments at times when I know I have nothing else to do that day so will not be in a rush. I expect to be there 2 or 2.5 hours. I love the playful atmosphere. The hair-wash spa is awesome, it sets the mood for the rest of the haircut. I sit back and relax. We can chat, or I can get into a kind of a meditative state, enjoying the feel of fingers on my scalp and watching my hair looking better and better by the minute. Students are really into it, and very careful. And I know the instructors are there if anything needs to be fixed. I wish they let us tip the students. Each haircut so far, over the past couple of years, has been good. But the last two, with Michaela, were fantastic - some of the best cuts I ever had, and I had some good ones over the decades. I have been getting lots of compliments on my haircut and I intend to keep coming back.
Had my first haircut in October w Summer, she's a near graduating senior. Though it was a long process, like 5 hours, it is the best haircut/color I have had in a long time. While i was getting my hair done i saw the other stylist do awesome cuts/color as well. I usually go to Carrboro salons, but was fed up w service/prices. Looking forward to booking hopefully again w summer this week!
i was a student at this Institute. I have good and bad memories here . One thing people need to remember that this is a learning establishment and the students are there to learn . So if you visit the school please be patient with the students and the instructors. It is a very great place and the front desk staff is awesome ! Experience the AVEDA journey i'm sure you'll like it !
Went and got a botanical facial +plant peel. I could honestly say I'd be happy with just the facial, but still was perfect/relaxing. The lady who did my facial (Laura) did an amazing job! Walked in for my appointment with some breakouts cause of stress, but after my facial I was surprised when I saw that a lot had honestly disappeared/faded. Planning on going again in a few weeks before she graduates!
Second time here and i absolutely love my stylist Meesha!! I hate that some others had bad experiences but I personally can't relate. Unfortunately, my girl is leaving soon(she's a senior
