The pizza was good but awfully greasy. I had the Amato Napoli (I believe that was the name) and it was loaded with toppings.
Calzones are wonderful they don't skimp on cheeses nor added fillings. LOVE the marinated portabella mushrooms. Really good prices on sandwiches, salads, and calzones. Their homemade marinara sauce is chewy and delicious - really complements their dough, which tastes like it's made in-house. I've been back several times since leaving this review and had them deliver several times. Amante's never fails to impress me with their food. I'm so glad we live close by.
However, it needs to be closed down for a week or so and cleaned. Then all the furniture inside needs to be either refurbished or replaced. I don't even know what to say about the front counter where you place your orders! I would love to go here on a regular basis but I don't think I can get over the interior.
Literally work less than 3 miles from them and have waited for over an hour for my order and it still has not arrived. Called back to ask for an update and all the lady could tell me is - I’m not sure and we are busy. - This is the 3rd time this has happened and is very frustrating.
Very unprofessional. I wanted something different and they flat out said they couldn't do it. Just go somewhere else for a better price and a more mature manager
I love eating Amante's Pizza when I donate at the UNC Blood Donation Center! If you bring just 2 or 3 friends to donate with you the center will BUY YOU pizza! Its a free pizza party and I'm saving a life! What's better than that?
I'm now waiting to see if the pizza makes me sick.
I debated walking out when I saw the Health Rating was under 90. I don't usually frequent an establishment that is under 95. But I had read the menu online and was excited to have this kind of selection in my new neighborhood.
