I've enjoyed having a Carolina Club membership for a little over a year now. As a Tar Heel Advantage member, I enjoy unlimited breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday for a very reasonable monthly fee. The membership passport also offers BOGO dinners and event specials throughout the year. I still haven't been for the monthly brunch but can't wait to try it. The staff is wonderful and attentive and the service is excellent. Great place to take out of town guests too. The complimentary parking with the THA plan is a great perk.

I arrived with reservations with my mom and dad and family to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday (he's retired faculty). I was wearing crushed linen Perry Ellis slacks, Colehaan leather shoes, Yves Saint Laurent dress shirt, but no jacket. The host approached me at the table and told me I needed a jacket in order to stay, and that he would bring me one. He brought me a tattered sport coat from SEARS. The waitress had obviously never opened a bottle of wine before in her life; literally couldn't do it, so I helped her, showed her how, being very nice (Oh and I took my jacket off to do it). The food took forever even though they were not busy, and was not very good. The place rings with old money pretentiousness. If you're going to talk to me about how I'm dressed when I walk in, my server better know how to open a bottle of wine, and the food better be good. Perhaps a good space for larger gatherings though.

Just conducted the 17 Legal Ways to Double Your Income Spring Success Summit at the Carolina Club. Event Planner Elizabeth Rubio is wonderful to work with. Banquet staff is outstanding. What a 1st Class facility for an upscale event.
